The most obvious feature in this frontal view of the Gyrobee is the very wide stance of the main gear - seven feet as opposed to an average of five feet for most single-place machines. While this introduces additional complications in designing a trailer, the wide stance greatly improves the roll-over angle. Put simply, the Gyrobee has absolutely no tendency to turn over is touched down in a crabbed attitude. Such landing roll-overs are a major reason why so many gyros are damaged in engine-out landings.
This view also clearly shows the relative positions of the side-mount muffler and the single Bing carb used on our Rotax 447.
