The photograph shows the Rotax 447 from the exhaust side with the side-mount muffler option. The prop shown here is the original 4-blade Competition Aircraft Ultra-prop used for the first test flights. This prop is not recommended - it is heavy, noisy, prone to vibration, and doesn't generate nearly the thrust of the 60-38 wood or 60 inch, 2-blade IVO Prop.
ENGINE RIGHT SIDE
Here's a good view of the single Bing carb, the fuel pump, the 2.58 gearbox (Type B), and the IVO Prop. You can also see the upper attachment points for the two seat braces. The engine mount shown here is the dynafocal unit from LEAF, which is no longer available. Note how the fuel primer bulb and filter are secured to the diagonal engine brace with nylon ties. The foam air filter shown here is not recommended. The rigid K&B filter (see LEAF or CPS catalogs) is the one your should use. Foam filters vary greatly in their air-flow characteristics and can shed foam fragments into the intake manifold as they get older.
